With ‘The Sun’, the Auslandschweizerplatz is gaining a new landmark, visible from afar, with particular symbolic significance. Created specifically for this site by the artist Ugo Rondinone, who was born and raised in Brunnen, the work impressively combines contemporary art with the unique landscape of Lake Lucerne and the personal roots of its creator. It creates a place for encounter, inspiration and lasting remembrance.
The Brunnen Swiss Abroad Foundation is delighted to mark this significant occasion together with Ugo Rondinone and the public. The celebrations will begin at 3.00 pm with speeches and musical accompaniment provided by the Brunnen Music Society and the MAVE Acoustic Duo. Afterwards, Ugo Rondinone will offer insights into the creation of the artwork and speak about its inspiration and significance.
